Dutch Criminal Record are a south coast indie surf band from Portsmouth, UK. Their sound, a blend of 60's pop vocals, interlinking riffs and blooming harmonies. It's Gonna Be Okay is the bands 5th E.P. and is filled with catchy indie goodness.
It's Gonna Be Okay was written in lockdown and captures the hope and yearning of the band to return to normality. We've all wished we were dancing at a gig in this last year; listening to loud music and jumping around madly. Dutch Criminal Record return with a new E.P. of summery surf pop goodness that can be your soundtrack wether you're picnicking with a few friends by the river, dancing in the summer night or relaxing in the comfort of your home. With lockdown easing in the U.K. and a return to live events in sight, it's gonna be okay.
DCR have received airtime from BBC 6 Music and regular spins on Regional BBC Radio including a live performance from BBC Broadcasting House Brighton and BBC Solent. Their sunny surf sounds have garnered Spotify Editorial playlisting slots on Fresh Finds, the United States Viral 50 and Hot New Bands, whilst their live events have been touted by The Guardian Guide, not least, ahead of their slot at Victorious festival.
"A band I never tire of playing" Charlie Ashcroft, Amazing Radio.
“A blast from the past yet with a sweet, juicy freshness that makes you feel like you're discovering something new.”
- Earmilk
“There’s something wonderful and wilfully gleeful about this which despite the title rather reminds me of the great jangle-fest which was the mid 80’s”
- Steve Lamacq, BBC Radio 6 Music
